Vivitar Series 1 70-210mm F/3.5
The Vivitar Series 1 70-210mm lenses are one of the few older third party lenses out there that actually has a reasonable amount of information about it. Therefore, especially since I am pulling some information from his page, I am throwing in the link to Mark Robert’s page about the 70-210 series 1. http://www.robertstech.com/vivitar.htmThe version I have is the second version and was actually made by Tokina. It has a 62mm filter thread, weighs in at 1lb 9oz and is about 5.75″ in total length. The lens is multicoated. It has a maximum image reproduction ratio of 1:4 at 210mm and its closest focusing distance of 3.9ft, a minimum aperature of f/22 and is a push-pull zoom (1 touch).
The image quality is extremely good with the lens and there is little to complain about as it is sharp at all focal lengths and even wide open.
I originally purchased the lens off Ebay for about $55 and it came with a skylight and polarizing filters.
Below are a couple of pictures of the lens racked out to 210mm.
Here is another picture for size comparison of the 70-210mm large
