No, not another baby (thank goodness, though I love the ones I have), a new lens. After some thought, a lot of deliberation and much couch cushion searching I am pulling the trigger and getting a Panasonic Leica 25mm f/1.4. Hopefully it should show up before next weekend as I am most likely going to my local Renaissance Festival then and it would be great to have the lens along for that.
The last of the beach pictures and also, likely and slightly sadly, the last Sigma 30mm f/2.8 DN picture as well. Its been a good lens, but the focal length just isn’t quite right for me and I also wanted something a little faster. So I have to sadly part with it to get the PL25mm.
Ah those two brothers. I asked them to pose for the picture, but I didn’t ask them to hug for it. Sometimes their affection for each other (and their little sister) surprises you…we’ll when they are taking a break from wrestling and trying to steal each other’s things.
Olympus 45mm, f/3.2, 1/500s, ISO200
Olympus 45mm, f/2.5, 1/2500s, ISO200
Olympus 45mm, f/2.8, 1/2500s, ISO200 Future GQ model?
Olympus 17mm f/2.8 (see what I did there), f/3.5, 1/60s, ISO3200
Sigma 30mm, f/3.5, 1/200s, ISO200
Panasonic 14mm, f/2.5, 1/320s, ISO200
On another note, looking at the early reviews of the Olympus 60mm f/2.8 macro, I am very impressed by the lens. I had really wanted a small and light, but good quality 67mm f/2 lens (or at least faster than f/2.8). However, on second thought I still want that lens, but the Olympus 60mm macro might also be a lens I am going to get. Now, it could be redundant later if some 67mm lens ever does come out, but its macro abilities and resolution are just amazing based on these early reviews and even though the lens is a lot longer than I’d like for something around 120-135mm equivalent focal length, it is still very light and it would be nice to have one true macro lens (that also autofocuses) and the price is also very alluring (the weather sealing isn’t a bad thing either. Come on Olympus and Panasonic, some more weather sealed primes would be nice!!!). Sadly it’ll have to get in line behind the PL25mm and Olympus 12mm, but it might be the purchase after that.
